Nineteen African railway officials and talents visited Lhasa from June 22 to 24 to gain firsthand experience of China's modern management practices for plateau railways. The delegation represented eight countries, including Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zambia and the Republic of the Congo. Hosted by local and national friendship organizations, the officials boarded a train on the Qinghai–Xizang Railway to experience firsthand how the high-altitude line drives economic growth and regional development.
