The 14th Xizang Autonomous Region Games and the 6th Traditional Ethnic Sports Games opened in Xigaze City on August 15. 

The regional Games feature 13 major events, including athletics, basketball, football and equestrian, with 152 events in total. Compared with previous editions, 53 new events have been added, attracting 1,372 athletes.
