The Xizang Museum of Natural Science offers immersive science activities for Lhasa residents year-round. During this year’s National Day holiday, it launched a themed event, “Plateau Treasure Map: Scientific Expedition,” inviting families to form exploration teams and solve scientific puzzles at 15 themed stations.

Activities include observing the sun with a sundial, making Tibetan medicinal sachets, taking plateau-themed quizzes, simulating glacial meltwater, testing water quality, modeling tectonic plate movements, operating robots, and creating rainbows with light. These hands-on activities enable young participants to learn about plateau geology, ecology, astronomy, and Tibetan medicine while discovering the appeal of traditional ethnic cultures, creating a distinctive science outreach experience uniquely rooted in Xizang.
