In Zanda County, Ngari Prefecture, Xizang, the Langchen Zangbo River flows quietly through a landscape of wonder. Here lies the Zanda Earth Forest, the world’s largest and most typical wind-eroded earth-forest landform. Spanning approximately 2,464 square kilometers, it has a core area ranging from 3,750 to 4,450 meters above sea level. In 2005, it was designated a national geopark. In 2016, together with the ruins of the Guge Kingdom, it was approved as a national level scenic area.
