After the 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck in Dingri County, Xigaze City, the Xizang Autonomous Region, Panchen Erdeni Chos-kyi rGyal-po, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and vice president of the Buddhist Association of China, chanted prayers for the earthquake-hit areas several times.

Panchen Rinpoche and monks chanted sutras to mourn for those who died in the quake, to pray for those who have survived to get relief soon from the harms and pains caused by the disaster and rebuild their home once again, and to pray for national peace and prosperity, and happiness of all the people.
