A special performance titled “silver-haired vitality” was staged at the 23rd Peach Blossom Tourism and Cultural Festival in Nyingchi, Xizang. More than 300 talented senior performers from across China—these self-styled “young oldies”—took the stage alongside local inheritors of intangible cultural heritage.

On stage, the dance “Young Lady Axi”, performed by the Shiyang Art Troupe from Chengdu of Sichuan Province, drew rounds of warm applause as soon as it began. With its lively rhythm, synchronized steps, and radiant stage presence, the performance left the audience astonished to learn that this dynamic dance ensemble boasts an average age of 60—its eldest member being 71 years old.

“At this stage of life, performing on stage brings us our greatest joy—a profound expression of our love for life. Love knows no age; rather, it rejuvenates us continuously, making us feel ever more youthful with each passing year,” said the art troupe leader.
